Born and raised in Ecuador, Nadia Mendieta immigrated to Union City, New Jersey, at 8 years old, exposing her to a cultural melting pot just outside of New York City.

She graduated from The New School in 2018, where she majored in Media Studies, concentrating in Film & Television Production. Nadia currently resides in Koreatown, Los Angeles, where she works as an independent director and explores the city’s music scene through directing music videos and documenting live performances.

As an artist, Nadia finds inspiration in experimental and street photography, films that investigate the depths of human emotion, and coming-of-age narratives.

Her work examines the gifts that life offers and reflects her everyday life, bringing her (and us) further on our continuous search for home and adventure.
